Advertising giant TBWA\Chiat\Day has occupied an important role in Los Angeles' creative office history, firstly with the 2001 Claes Oldenburg / Frank Gehry Binoculars Building in Venice, and then with Clive Wilkinson Architects' seminal 1998 Playa Vista remodel of an old pharmaceutical plant. In 2015, Spatial Affairs Bureau began developing a masterplan for an evolution of the Grosvenor Boulevard home as a series of contemporary work environments within a 'walled city' concept (see also Peter Culley and Berenika Boberska's 'The New Walled Cities and Hinterlands' book launch which includes a model of the TBWA\Chiat\Day HQ reimagined as a fortified hill top community).
Join Spatial Affairs Bureau principal, Peter Culley, and TBWA Global Chief Strategy Officer, Nick Barham, for a tour of the building and a discussion about the importance of architectural environment on creative culture, including the 'making' concept developed in recent projects.
This event is free, but RSVP is required.
