In Los Angeles, we are all natives. Our city is defined by a myriad of cultural influences and identities that enrich our collective power and impact. L.A. design is a reflection of that, and we are poised to inspire other cities to strive for more diversity and progressive thinking in design. In her design for Native restaurant in Santa Monica, whose fare by chef Nyesha J Arrington is “an expression of love through food,” Breegan Jane draws upon these principles. Breegan sits down with Interiors Editor-in-chief Erika Heet for a one-on-one chat on the concepts of “native design” in our city, a utopian microcosm of all the world cultures, reflecting collaboration, inclusion and diversity.
