“One could describe Design as a plan for arranging elements to accomplish a particular purpose.”
- CHARLES EAMES
The LA Design Festival’s official theme for 2019 is:
Design with Purpose
Design could also be said to be the process of intentionally creating something while simultaneously considering it’s objective, function, economics, sociocultural factors, and aesthetics. Most importantly, it's about improvement, making things better, and solving challenges. This year, the LA Design Festival invites all participants to think about their program or event through this lens, and to DESIGN WITH PURPOSE.
2019 Sponsorship Opportunities include:
Leading designers, architects, artists, makers, and educators all together for a communal dinner at the new Hoxton in DTLA celebrating the ICON, EDGE, and RISE award recipients.
2019 Keynote + Design Block Party
A singular design thinker kicks off the festival with a conversation, followed by an all-out design street party on Market Row. Outdoor bars and lounges, music, and design installations and activations. Last year, the Design Party drew over 3500 in one night.
Public, experiential design installations at the LA Design Festival that reflect the idea of "Design with Purpose." Last year, MINI LIVING, STEREOBOT, and Assembledge+ created unforgettable structures.
Design, etc. Conversations
Four days of design confabs with some of the regions leading design thinkers. One day of discipline-focused conversations for trade, three days of general conversations covering design, architecture, culture, tech, and more.
Activation at the LA Design Festival hub and shuttle service and interaction for a special tour behind-the-scenes visiting leading design studios and beautiful homes, ending with truly a quintessential hospitality experience at Fig House. A progressive dinner with a design slant.
Convo x Design and other podcasts host live interviews and sessions, as well as storytelling booths where designers can share their histories and successes.
LA Design Festival draws design professionals, media and enthusiasts alike to create a series of events that illustrate how design is imprinted on the fabric of Los Angeles.
