  • Laurel Hills Residence x Assembledge+ Address to be shared upon purchase of ticket. Studio City, CA 90021 United States (map)

LA Design Festival presents the first-ever Design Supper Club in partnership with Assembledge+. The Design Supper Club is an itinerant, curated dinner experience that takes guests inside beautiful private spaces that embody LA's progressive design ethos. Part design experience, part social experiment, the Design Supper Club brings human beings together to enjoy a special design moment. This is a very limited capacity event.

Located in the foothills of the Fryman Canyon Estates in Studio City, the Laurel Hills residence seeks to create a residential oasis in the heart of Los Angeles. This single-story residence takes full advantage of the almost ½ acre site to allow the living experience to blend seamlessly with the landscape. Several walls of glass disappear to extend the living spaces with the lush surroundings and curated series of outdoor living rooms. The fluidity between the kitchen, breakfast room and family room area create a harmony of balance, transparency, and lightness, allowing the kitchen to feel like part of the exterior. The scheme is made of three distinct pavilions that are larger volumes comprised of charcoal colored oversized board and batten cement board panels. The larger volumes are connected by glass bridges and western red cedar volumes that carve out the larger forms to create the harmonious composition. Laurel Hills residence is the architect's own home.

The name Assembledge+was deliberately chosen to convey this Los Angeles firm’s passion for “assembling” all the often-complex elements of the design process in order to produce an architecture that is precise, considered, and placed firmly on the leading edge of contemporary discourse. The + signifies an approach that looks at the whole as an inextricable combination of interrelated parts as we continue searching for better, more efficient, and innovative ways to construct modern living and working environments.

Chef Rachelle Boucher, also known as the Flavor Agent and appliance expert who has long devised custom culinary experience for Miele and served as private chef for George Lucas, will create a farm-to-table Southern California Summer al fresco coursed dinner experience for guests. Gluten-free and vegetarian menu customization available.
