Homelessness is a massive crisis in LA. People are suffering in every corner of our city and the work seems endless. Given the dramatic increase in people experiencing homelessness in the last few years, many citizens are asking "what can I do to help?" The answer to that question is both straight forward and complex. In this talk, we'll unpack what's so hard about solving homelessness and on the hopeful side, what you actually can do to help.

Talk is being given by Lex Roman of The Black Tux.

Lex Roman is a Product and Growth Designer. Professionally, she is a Product Designer at The Black Tux and has eight years of experience building digital products. Her focus is on the impact of design rather than the output of design artifacts.

In her spare time, she is a homeless advocate, contributing to long-term solutions and helping to alleviate immediate pain. Through her work with the SELAH Neighborhood Homeless Coalition, the League of Women Voters of Los Angeles and Hack for LA, she’s developed a rich perspective on how people can get involved. She shares resources on her blog (lexroman.com/writing), on Twitter and as live presentations around LA.
