For the second year at ROW DTLA, the LA Design Festival has curated a series of workshops with local artists, makers and creative entrepreneurs. New this year, the workshop space (located at ROW in building 2, space 132) will feature a lounge by Yeah! Next up on Saturday at 12:30pm, Eunice of Electric Eunice will host a workshop teaching the techniques of watercolor blending to paint moons and galaxies! During this 2 hour workshop, you will learn how to paint a moon floating in a colorful galaxy from start to finish and walk away with the skills to create more “out of this world” paintings. From this workshop, you will receive a watercolor starter kit that includes a 36 watercolor pan set, a round brush, a compass tool, watercolor paper, an Electric Eunice personalized moon and much more. This workshop does not require any experience. Get tickets here.

Lastly on Saturday, would you love to add more plants to your space, but are struggling to keep them happy, or not sure where to start? Join Danae Horst, founder of Folia Collective, and learn how to choose not just the prettiest plants, but plants that are perfectly suited to your space and lifestyle. Danae will lead you through the essentials of plant selection and care, with the realities of your needs in mind. Once you’re equipped with the know-how to pick the best plant for your space, you’ll choose a plant and pot it up with Danae’s guidance through the potting process! Workshop cost includes instruction, plant, planter, and all potting materials. Get tickets here.

Sunday’s workshop will kick-off with a Pom Pom making workshop with Marley & Alfie at 10am. It’s the perfect time as Pom Poms are all the rage and they bring so much joy and color into everyone’s lives. In this class, you'll make a pair of your very own pom pom earrings. Using a tool and yarn, you’ll practice your technique and will learn how to combine colors, attaching them to earring hardware and how to finish them with perfection so you can leave with an amazing pair of custom earrings. Lastly, Krystal Chang Projects will host a desert terrarium workshop where attendees will create miniature desert worlds, working with a variety of cacti and succulents as well as textural accents, sculptural stones, and colored sands. In this hands-on workshop, each participant will create their own container garden with assistance from the instructor. A selection of plants and materials will be available. All plants, vessels, tools, and planting materials included. Feel free to bring any small rocks, shells, or other objects that you would like to add to your landscape. Get tickets here.
