Here we go again, ROW DTLA!

ROW DTLA is once again home to the LA Design Festival in 2019. Look for even more design experiences packed into four days of festivities.

As we strolled along Market Row last year watching the people meander in and out of storefronts, listening to the music echo through streets, as design fans and friends enjoyed the first-ever Design Block Party, we realized that we had all created something special together. While 2018 was amazing, we’re hoping to amplify everything that we’ve built together so far in 2019. Look for more installations, talks, tours, parties, and design expressions. ROW DTLA is our playground for four days, and we intend to make it memorable.

INTRO LA to returns to the LA Design Festival for their 5th year. We’ll also feature four full days of design confabs featuring leading architects, designers, technologists, influencers, and design thinkers. Not to mention a special group show and exhibition by the 2019 EDGE recipients, a designer pop-up shop, a Dunn Edwards color experience, and more.

With most of the retail spaces now leased out as ROW DTLA fills out and becomes a design district and creative city unto itself, LA Design Festival will be taking it to the streets - literally. This year, we’ll be popping up installations not only on along the length of Market Row - ROW DTLA’s main retail thoroughfare - but also on The Narrows - the new street/park area designed by Studio-MLA (Mia Lehrer was the 2014 ICON Recipient). Look for experiential structures by Architecture Office, Ghatit Studio, MADWORKSHOP, Oasys, OWIU, Dreamland Creative Projects, Some People, Virgina Melnyk, and more.

New this year, we’ll be collaborating even more actively with ROW DTLA tenants. Look for installations inside the retail spaces (including Shades of Grey x Nik Nik Studio, Scent Bar x SALT Landscape Architecture + Institute for Art and Olfactory, Galerie LA x Tina Huang, and more), as well as talks (IDS Vancouver and Lukas Peet at A+R, Heather Rosenman at Still Life Ceramics, and more), and tastings (including spirit tastings at Flask & Field, chocolate tastings at Dandelion Chocolate).

And in exciting news, the AIA|LA brings their 13th annual Restaurant Design Awards to ROW DTLA. Stop by to find out who will receive the People’s Choice Awards and meet the jury, then stay for a special rooftop reception.

Building on the success of the workshops last year, we’ll be hosting three days of hands-on fun for grown-ups and kids. New this year, we’ll have a kid-friendly hang zone and pop-up shop by Nico & Yeye.

As always, most events are free and open to the public. Some events (like workshops and tastings) require RSVPs and tickets in some cases. Check out the full schedule here.
