In 2016, LA Design Festival created the EDGE award recognizing emerging talent. This year, we are proud to celebrate three new recipients making a significant contribution to LA's design culture.
First up, meet Tuesday Bassen - an award-winning artist based in LA. Her colorful, whimsical style spans across a variety of projects, from illustrated wares in her online + Friend Mart shops, to clients like The New Yorker, Adidas, Urban Outfitters, and more.
The "tenacious as hell" artist famously made headlines (NY Mag, The Guardian, Nylon, and British Vogue, to name a few) in a David-and-Goliath battle against intellectual property infringement. She and Adam J. Kurtz created Shop Art Theft in an effort to bring awareness to egregious corporate plagiarism, while supporting the work of indie artists and designers like herself.
Check out more of her work in the gallery below, and join us on June 8th as we recognize the talent, creativity, and overall badass-ery of Tuesday Bassen during the LA Design Festival Opening Night Party.
