Resilience in the Ashes

Art Center

-

"The immersive installation ""Resilience in the Ashes"" invites visitors into a space of remembrance and community healing in response to the devastating January wildfires that impacted communities across Los Angeles, Altadena and Pasadena. Created in collaboration with ArtCenter’s James Meraz, Associate Chair of Spatial Experience Design; Everard Williams, Chair of Photography and Imaging; and Fine Art alumnus and former valedictorian Jeffrey Sugishita, the installation ""Resilience in the Ashes"" comprises three powerful elements: The Tree, The Chair, and The Photograph. Visitors are invited to write personal messages, reflections or hopes on cards and hang them on the tree, transforming the space into a living memorial and a collective expression of community strength and resilience. Location: Mullin Transportation Design Center (1st Floor) ArtCenter College of Design, South Campus
